Katoomba, Blue Mountains

The Mountain Heritage Hotel & Spa is located on the corner of Apex & Lovel Streets, Katoomba - a central yet secluded location just outside the main town centre. Shopping, restaurants and many other activities and attractions are within minutes of the property.

Katoomba is the major tourist centre of the Blue Mountains - just over 100 kilometres west of Sydney at an altitude of 1017 metres above sea level. It's approximately 1½ hours by car, or 2 hours by train from the Sydney City Central Business District.

By Car from Sydney (Direct):

If travelling by car the most direct route to Katoomba is via the M4 motorway, which becomes the Great Western Highway just beyond Penrith. From central Sydney simply follow Parramatta Road until the turnoff to the M4 motorway (a toll of $2.20 is payable). All up it's an easy 90 minute drive under normal traffic conditions.

By Car from Sydney (Scenic):

If you have a little more time to explore the scenic drive along Bells Line of Road (which starts beyond Richmond & Windsor) is fantastic. With a much more relaxed "Sunday Drive" feel to it Bells Line of Road tempts you with many interesting places to visit along the way.

The fruit stalls of Bilpin, the Historic Village at Kurrajong and the Mt Tomah Botanical Gardens are just some of the options avilable. As you travel further west you will be treated to magnificent views over the rugged expanse of the Grose Valley and National Parks to the North & South.

By Rail

Rail services operate from Sydney, stopping at all major villages throughout the mountains. Trains generally run every hour. You'll find timetables online at the Cityrail website.
